The Cambodian League for the Promotion and Defense of Human Rights
The Cambodian League for the Promotion and Defense of Human Rights (LICADHO) is a highly respected Cambodian human rights organisation with offices in Phnom Penh and 12 provinces. Since its establishment in 1992, LICADHO has been at the forefront of efforts to protect civil, political, economic and social rights in Cambodia, and to promote respect for them by the Cambodian government and institutions.
LICADHO and LICADHO Canada (LC) are legally separate entities with separate boards of directors. The two organisations work in close collaboration and LICADHO has been a significant influence on LC’s development and direction. LC shares LICADHO’s Phnom Penh office and benefits from access to LICADHO’s human and material resources. LC works with the same communities and partners as LICADHO and has similar programmes, however, our services are different and complementary to those of LICADHO. Together we are able achieve maximum impact in our advocacy efforts and service delivery.
